Share the Road is a campaign to improve cycling in Florida. It is funded by sales of Share the Road License Plates. The campaign has several goals:

  • Increase advocacy and awareness of bike related issues
  • Teach bike safety and education
  • Improve bike tourism and demonstrate the economic impact of cycling
How Are Share the Road Funds Used?

Funds from the sales of share the road plates are used in 3 ways:

  • Support the mission of Bike Florida
  • Support the mission of the Florida Bicycle Association
  • Market the Share the Road Campaign

Bike Florida's Mission is to promote safe and responsible bicycling through support of the Share the Road campaign, education, public awareness, and bicycle touring.

Bike Florida
  • Promotes bike tourism
  • Demonstrates the economic impact of cycling
  • Supports bike safety and education programs, like the FTBSEP
  • Profits from Bike Florida tours provide additional funding for its programs

FBA Mission is to network and share best practices, to educate and advocate and to build awareness as a unified voice

Florida Bicycle Association (FBA)
  • Maintains a presence in the Florida Legislature and work closely with the state Department of Transportation
  • Provides education services for cyclists, motorists and pedestrians
  • Raises additional funding for its programs via its membership program
